Aerial cinematography of the construction site of The Green Valley an urban regeneration project turning this former industrial site into a new urban area in Shanghai.
This is what is to become of Shanghai’s ambitious 2010 World Expo grounds, a video footage taken from a drone flying over the construction site of Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects’ mixed-use master plan.
The video taken by photographer Rasmus Daniel Taun shot for his Danish client the architecture firm Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects’ shows the 50,000-square-meter Green Valley construction site located next to the iconic Chinese pavilion on the east bank of the Huangpu River.
Covered by construction cranes and still a far removed from Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects’ beautifully lush renderings, the mixed-use development is slated for completion in 2015. The architects first broke ground on the project in May of last year.
Once completed, the Green Valley development will serve as a central urban development with a mix of residential, office, retail, and restaurant space.”It will be a green, sustainable landmark for the city and for the entire region”, said Kristian Lars Ahlmark, partner at Schmidt Hammer Lassen Architects. The firm won the bid to design the master plan in a 2012 international competition.
