Sichuan farmer saves thousands of RMB transforming old scraps into excavator

A 25-year-old farmer in a Sichuan village built his own excavator in just three days. And while it might not be the most difficult piece of machinery to assemble from scratch, it’s a pretty impressive project for a guy with only middle school education.

Best of all, Dai Yuanwu used scratch material to build the piece of equipment for just 31,000 yuan—a helluva save compared to the excavators sold on the market for anywhere from 100,000 to 200,000 yuan.
