Planning department completes land study

The Planning Department announced the completion of the 2014 Area Assessments of Industrial Land in the Territory today.

The assessment examined the latest usage of 1,448 existing privately owned industrial buildings in five land use zonings: “Industrial”, “Other Specified Uses” annotated “Business”, “Residential (Group A)”, “Residential (Group E)” and “Comprehensive Development Area”, to effectively plan and utilise these land resources.

The assessments involved on-site surveys and questionnaires covering more than 75,000 units on the use, business nature and numbers of workers employed. Building age, condition and ownership were also analysed.
