Obayashi, Toa to construct platform for building large-scale offshore wind power plant

Obayashi Corp and Toa Corp announced Sept 25, 2018, that they will build a self elevating platform (SEP) aimed at building an offshore wind power plant.

It will have Japan’s largest-class loading capacity and crane power. It is scheduled to be completed in October 2020.

The SEP can be built while being mounted with up to three 9.5MW-class “seabed-anchored-type” wind power generation systems. Also, equipped with a crane capable of lifting a load of 800t, it can assemble an offshore wind power plant with a power generation capacity of 5.0-9.5MW.
