Mr TC Chew, Projects Director of MTR Corporation, expressed his heartfelt thanks to the community at an event held in October 2014 to mark the completion of this section of the XRL TBM works.

“Constructing railway tunnels in an urban environment is always challenging. In this case, the tunnel boring machines passed underneath buildings in Tai Kok Tsui area.

The understanding and support of the community has been vital to completing this part of the project,” he said. “I also very much appreciate the commitment and effort of the MTR projects team and our contractors in completing this tunnelling works,” added Mr Chew.
