Mainland construction worker dies on Galaxy Macau project

A construction worker from the mainland lost his life in an industrial accident that took place two days ago at the Galaxy Macau construction site. Galaxy Macau(DSAL) has released a statement, promising to assist the family with regards to compensation. DSAL also required the contractor to cease similar operation on the site and to review its safety procedures. Industry insiders said that occasionally workers would sacrifice safety for convenience.
Judiciary Police (PJ) information indicated that the 58-year-old non-resident worker was drilling on a three-meter-high brick wall when it suddenly collapsed and the bricks fell on him. His co-workers immediately removed the debris from the victim and rushed him to the Kiang Wu Medical Centre in Taipa. He was later pronounced dead. It has been revealed that the victim suffered from multiple fractures in his chest. A coroner will determine the cause of death and the authorities will continue to investigate the accident.   Read More
