Hong Kong records 21 land transactions in Q1

The Lands Department registered 19 lease modifications and two land exchanges in the Land Registry during the first quarter of this year, of which seven were technical changes involving nil premium.

Nine of the transactions were on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon, and five in the New Territories.

Another four lots granted by private treaty were registered during the quarter, involving two in Tseung Kwan O and Sha Tin Tai Wai Station granted to the MTR Corporation for residential and commercial/residential development; one granted to the Urban Renewal Authority for residential development in Sham Shui Po; and another for an electricity substation in Chek Lap Kok.

The transactions realised a total land premium of around $12.639 billion.
