The Buildings Department approved 16 building plans in April – five on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.
Eight were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, three were for commercial developments and five were for community services developments.
Consent was given for work to start on 19 building projects that, when completed, will provide 96,440 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 952 units, and 153,449 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.
The department has received notification of the start of work for 12 building projects.
It also issued 10 occupation permits – one on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.
The buildings certified for occupation have 113,400 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2,084 units, and 16,995 sq m for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in April totalled $3.5 billion.
