Hong Kong: 14 building plans approved

The Buildings Department approved 14 building plans in November – five on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and three in the New Territories.

Five were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, four for commercial developments and five were for community services developments.

Consent was given for work to start on seven building projects that will provide 78,322 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,417 units, and 328,730 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

The department received notification of the start of work for 11 building projects. It also issued 20 occupation permits – five on Hong Kong Island, nine in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.

The buildings certified for occupation have 160,145 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,317 units, and 40,297 sq m for non-domestic use.

The declared cost of new buildings completed in October totalled $7 billion.
