HKRI and Swire tie up for flagship project in Shanghai

HKR International and Swire Properties jointly announced today the name of their Shanghai joint-venture project as “HKRI Taikoo Hui”, a large-scale mixed-use development formerly known as the Dazhongli project.

The complex, comprising a shopping mall, two office towers and three hotels or serviced apartments, was named HKRI Taikoo Hui yesterday. With completion scheduled for next year and operation soon afterward, it will be the second Taikoo Hui scheme following the opening of the first in Guangzhou in 2011.

The project is poised to become a landmark development in the heart of Shanghai and will inject new excitement into the retail, dining and entertainment scene in the buzzing Nanjing Road (West) neighbourhood.

It is also set to become Swire Properties’ second-largest project in the mainland, with an overall gross floor area of 3.46 million square feet. The joint venture sits on Nanjing Road, a prime retail location and a key tourist attraction in Shanghai.
