Gov’t allows more time for MTR report

Secretary for Transport & Housing Frank Chan says the Government will allow the Mass Transit Railway Corporation more time to prepare an incident report concerning the construction quality of Hung Hom Station on the Shatin to Central Link.

He made the comment to the media today after the MTRC notified the Government it needs more time to gather data for the report.

“It would be required for them to submit a very detailed and comprehensive report to the Government.

“Therefore, if they require more time, or they take more time to acquire the information from the main contractor and sub-contractor, we will allow for that, because (there’s) a need for us and the entire community to clearly understand what has happened and whether or not any wrongdoing has been committed.”
