Nan Hai Corporation Ltd. and Malaysian property developers Malton Berhad won the bid, it was announced today
TAIPEI (Taiwan News) — The final price target of the Taipei City One skyscraper project has been met following a joint bid from Hong Kong-listed Nan Hai Corporation Ltd. and Malaysian property developers Malton Berhad.
City One opened its sixth call for tenders in March, and the final round of bidding closed in October. The two foreign companies beat a bid by local competitors Clevo Co. (a computer manufacturing brand) and property developers Hongwell.
Nan Hai Corp. renamed the building from Gate of Taipei, as it was previously known.
Over NT$60 billion is currently invested in the Taipei City One skyscraper project. The site of the project is just across from the Taipei Main Station building.
Famous Dutch architectural team MVRDV was enlisted to help with construction design. MVRDV is known for its work on the Rotterdam Market Hall, which is beautifully decorated with an 11,000 square meter mural.
Current plans for City One reveal it is to be 47 percent offices, 40 percent shops and 13 percent of it is to be used as hotels. Development is expected to be completed within six years.
