China’s newest and biggest wastewater pipe in Pudong

China’s largest-ever wastewater pipe was laid yesterday beneath the Maglev line and the jet fuel pipes connecting to Pudong International Airport.

The pipe, located in the suburban Chuansha area of Pudong, has a total diameter of 4.64 meters and is part of Shanghai’s Bailonggang Sewage Plant project, geared towards providing greater sewage water transport and processing efficiency within the city.

The pipe will be serving downtown industrial and residential sewage needs as well as the Disneyland theme park which is set to open in late 2015.
