China state construction company to build Macau LRT depot

The government has outsourced the building of a Light Railway Transit (LRT) depot to China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) in a contract worth MOP1.07 billion, according to a notice published yesterday in the government’s Official Gazette.

The total payment will be settled over a period of four years, up until 2019 when a final installment will be paid to CSCEC. Earlier, the government paid MOP85 million to previous contractors of the project in order to unilaterally terminate deals.

The depot project is one of the five projects comprising the Taipa section of the LRT. It will occupy an area of about 130,000 square meters.
