China high-speed railway network could cover Macau

Deputy chief engineer of China Railway Corp, Zhao Guo Tang, believes that China’s high-speed railway network may provide services to Macau, according to a report by Macao Daily News.

The Office of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress recently held a seminar on the innovation and developments of China’s high-speed railway.

On the sidelines of the seminar, Zhao noted that as China’s rapid development of high-speed railways continues, along with its continued development of the Pearl River Delta area, there exists a possibility for the high-speed railway to extend into Macau.

According to Zhang, the Pearl River Delta region is one of three regions in China which have been proposed as key points within the country’s high-speed railway network.

There are no problems building bridges or tunnels in terms of construction technology.
