Assessment on new tunnels linking Macau & Taipa to be carried out

According to a notice published in the Official Gazette, a transport and infrastructure firm will study the feasibility for the construction of two tunnels linking Macau and Taipa.

CCCC Highways Consultants Co., a subsidiary of state-owned transportation infrastructure group, China Communications Construction Company, will consider the potential for the two tunnels to be constructed alongside the existing Nobre de Carvalho Bridge.

An order from the Chief Executive has officially authorized the conclusion of the contract with the company, amounting to MOP7.22 million. It will be paid by 2020 according to the Official Gazette.
