Hong Kong: The Buildings Department approved 23 building plans in September – eight in Kowloon and 15 in the New Territories.
Ten were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, four were for commercial developments, five were for factory and industrial developments and four were for community services developments.
Consent was given for work to start on 16 building projects that, when completed, will provide 317,186 square meters of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 4,835 units, and 147,579 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.
The department received notification of the start of work for eight building projects. It also issued 11 occupation permits – two on Hong Kong Island, six in Kowloon and three in the New Territories.
The buildings certified for occupation have 144,040 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,620 units, and 74,167 sq m for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in September totalled $2.5 billion.
