The Buildings Department approved 21 building plans in May – nine on Hong Kong Island, five in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories.
Twelve were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, four were for commercial developments and five were for community services developments.
Consent was given for work to start on 17 building projects that, when completed, will provide 71,601 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 945 units, and 82,626 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.
The department received notification of the start of work for 10 building projects.
It also issued eight occupation permits – one on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.
The buildings certified for occupation have 24,428 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 409 units, and 111,858 sq m for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in May totalled $2.7 billion.
