The Buildings Department approved 20 building plans in July – five on Hong Kong Island, four in Kowloon and 11 in the New Territories.
Seven were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, six were for commercial developments, two were for factory and industrial developments, and five were for community services developments.
Consent was given for work to start on 12 building projects that, when completed, will provide 97,992 square meters of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 1,317 units, and 73,520 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.
The department received notification of the start of work for 15 building projects. It also issued 18 occupation permits – six each on Hong Kong Island, and in Kowloon and the New Territories.
The buildings certified for occupation have 57,363 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 744 units, and 18,867 sq m for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in July totaled $2.8 billion.
