11 building plans approved for Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories

The Buildings Department approved 11 building plans in June – three on Hong Kong Island, three in Kowloon and five in the New Territories.

Three were for apartment and apartment-commercial developments, four were for commercial developments, one was for factory and industrial development and three were for community services developments.

Consent was given for work to start on 25 building projects that, when completed, will provide 177,603 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2,690 units, and 112,839 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use.

The department received notification of the start of work for 13 building projects.

It also issued 18 occupation permits – seven on Hong Kong Island, two in Kowloon and nine in the New Territories.

The buildings certified for occupation have 274,224 sq m of gross floor area for domestic use, involving 2,712 units, and 48,666 sq m for non-domestic use.

The declared cost of new buildings completed in June totalled $10.3 billion.
